 The State Football Competition is organized to encourage the spirit of comradeship and allow individual Boys to develop their mental and physique through team games and sports. The competition shall be an annual one.

The competition is Battalion based and opened to any Boy in Junior Section between the age of 8 years to 11 years. However, such a participant MUST have the following requirements and regulations.

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE COMPETITION

1. Eligibility requirements

Each participant MUST:

• be an active member and registered member with a State Membership Number of a Boys' Brigade Company within Lagos State Council;
• be within the age bracket of 8 – 11 years old;
• be ready to supply details of his age when required so to do; and

Any violation of the eligibility rule or false declaration of age will lead to disqualification of the concerned participant and possibly the Team.

2. Registration for the competition

• Registration for the competition shall be on Battalion basis and done online on the portal of the Lagos State Council – www.boysbrigadelagos.com. The competition is FREE
• Registered Teams will be given a unique code after submitting their online form.
• After registration, Teams will be duly informed on the date, time and venue for the competition at the Play-Offs. Please note that it is the responsibility of the Battalion Representative to regularly check the State website for updates and the telephone number used to register to ensure effective communication.

3. Format & Stages of the competition

• The Format of The State Football Competition for the year 2022 is SINGLE KNOCKOUT/ELIMINATION.
• There shall be three (3) Stages for the competition – Play-Offs (Home and Away), Knockout and Quarterfinals to Finals.
• Teams will commence the competition at the Play-off levels in their respective Zones.
• Winners will progress to the Knockout/Eliminations level.
• Then progress to the quarterfinals level which will end at the State Finals.
• The State Finals will have first and second runner-up
• The winner and the two runners-up at the State level will be presented with prizes.

4. FOOTBALL RULES

All Competitions under the State’s control shall be conducted in accordance with Laws of Football as adopted by the Nigerian Football Federation unless underwise stated in the attached document. Download State Football Competition Regulations here.
