COVID-19

As a result of COVID-19 all Boys’ Brigade Events are cancelled until further notice.

For the avoidance of doubt this suspension includes Competitions, Parade nights, Battalion and Company meetings, State, battalion and Company events and outings such as the displays and Enrolment Services during this period and our Annual BOYS DAY scheduled for 30th May.

We will, of course, update this guidance as the situation evolves.

We understand that children will be disappointed at the cancellation of these activities, however the health and safety of our members, and our compliance with government instructions is paramount.

COVID-19 Update for Leaders

The Boys’ Brigade Nigeria – Lagos State Council is committed to ensuring the safety and well being of our members, and as such, with the current Coronavirus emergency continuing to escalate, we feel it is important to provide information to you that is relevant in your role as a Leader.

Cases of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) have been reported in many countries around the world, including Nigeria with Lagos as the epicenter of the virus. We are following closely the WHO, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Lagos State Ministry of Health and International Health Advisory Bulletins on the COVID-19 outbreak.

We ask all Boys and Leaders to:

  • Pay attention to hand hygiene. Wash hands regularly with soap and water, especially before eating, and avoid touching their face.
  • Practice cough etiquette by coughing or sneezing into an elbow or using a tissue, to then dispose of the tissue into a bin and wash hands afterwards.
  • Avoid close contact with others, such as touching, shaking hands, hugging and kissing.
  • Regularly wipe down surfaces.
  • If you feel unwell, develops a fever or shortness of breath, a cough, sore throat or respiratory illness do not go to Boys’ Brigade – contact your doctor.
